God loves you.
Not in a vague or distant way—but personally.
He created you to know Him and to live in a real relationship with Him. That relationship is made possible through Jesus Christ, His Son.
But there is one problem that stands in the way.
The Problem We All Share: Sin
The Bible uses the word sin to describe our failure to live according to God’s holy and perfect standard. Sin shows up in what we do, what we say, how we think, the attitudes we carry, and even in the good things we fail to do.
Most of us tend to compare ourselves to others—labeling people as “good” or “bad.” But God’s Word tells us something different: every one of us has sinned, and even one sin separates us from a holy God.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” — Romans 3:23
No matter how hard we try, none of us live perfectly. We all need help.
A Common Confusion About God
Many people believe they must earn God’s love—by being good enough, fixing their lives first, or proving they are worthy. Others struggle to believe God could love them at all.
Here’s the good news: God already loves you.
Deeply. Completely. Unconditionally.
Even though sin brings real consequences—spiritual separation and death—God did not leave us without hope.
“God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5:8
What God Has Done for You
You cannot remove your own sin or make yourself right with God through effort or good works. That’s why God acted on your behalf.
Out of mercy and love, God sent Jesus to do what we could never do for ourselves.
“He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy.” — Titus 3:5
Salvation is not something you earn—it is something you receive.
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith… it is the gift of God, not by works.” — Ephesians 2:8–9
Jesus paid the full price for sin by dying on the cross. Three days later, He rose from the dead—defeating sin and death once and for all.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” — Romans 6:23
Through Jesus, the way back to God is open.
Your Response: Repent and Believe
To come to God means acknowledging our need for a Savior and turning to Jesus in faith. The Bible calls this repentance—a change of heart and direction that leads us away from sin and toward Christ.
Salvation involves:
- Admitting that you are a sinner in need of forgiveness
- Believing that Jesus died for your sins and rose again
- Confessing Jesus as Lord—placing your life under His leadership
- Receiving God’s gift of forgiveness and eternal life
“If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” — Romans 10:9–10
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” — John 3:16
A Prayer You Can Pray
If you are ready to place your trust in Jesus, you can speak to God right now. The words themselves don’t save you—your faith does—but this prayer can help express what’s in your heart.
A Suggested Prayer:
“Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and that I need Your forgiveness. I believe You died on the cross for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and place my trust in You alone. Come into my life, forgive me, and lead me as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for the gift of eternal life. Amen.”
